Micromax is gearing up to launch a new smartphone soon. It has already started teasing the same on Twitter. And if we have to go by the hint in the teaser, it could be Micromax’s first smartphone to feature a dual-camera setup.
Reports are in that Micromax plans to launch a new series called Bharat, along with a new business strategy under which it will unveil a premium smartphone alongside budget smartphones. As a part of its new business strategy, the premium smartphone may be priced between INR 25,000 and INR 30,000. This could be the company’s first high-end smartphone after the Canvas 6 Pro which was launched in August last year.
The smartphone will offer value for money specification with top notch hardware, along with a premium metal design. Micromax may also ditch the microUSB port and instead opt for a USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. The smartphone could also feature support for fast charging technology. The handset is said to be unveiled either by the end of this month or in early April.
Rumors also indicate that Micromax will unveil budget handsets under a new Bharat series. These smartphones could feature basic specifications and run on Android OS. To capitalize on the recent push towards a cashless economy, the Bharat-series smartphones could also come integrated with digital payment apps.
