Kajal says she loves Kollywood

Kajal Agarwal recently had an interview with us. Just a few days later the media created an uproar on her statements.Now Kajal seems to eat back her words. Here is what she had to tell us in an interview.

Kajal recently you told us that you never consider yourself as a Kollywood actress. Following which there has been a controversy of you disowning Kollywood and living up your status of a Bollywood actress. What do you have to say about it?

I never said ‘I’m not a South Indian actress. All I said was that I am a Mumbai girl and Mumbai is my home. I was misquoted.

 

So you mean to say the media misquoted your statements?

Yes, they did I’m clueless; I don’t understand what the hell is happening. I don’t know why such things are being said. I would like to tell people who are following this interview that South films and the South industry have a very special place in my life.

Even though I do hail from Bombay, South India is the birthplace of my career and I would never speak like this about the industry I am so attached to. In spite of whatever people around have to say, I do not really need to prove my loyalties to my audience, my work speaks for itself.

 

Are you not planning to move to Bollywood now, we heard you are part of Bol Bachchan Bol isn’t it?

I am not permitted to reveal more on my commitments in any language as of now.

What about the remake of Dabbangg with Pawan Kalyan?

Nothing has been finalized as of now.

Are you also doing movies with Kannada filmmakers?

Yes, I have been approached by a few Kannada filmmakers with brilliant scripts but due to prior date commitments I couldn’t take up the project. All I can tell you is I have always taken great pride in being a ‘South Indian’ actress as I am currently working on 4 projects in Telugu and Tamil — I am shooting with Surya for Maatran directed by KV Anand that will go on floor in mid-July. There is The Business Man with Mahesh and Dhada with Naga Chaitanya.
