Vinay Rai a.k.a. Vinay is a happy actor who is thankful to his stars for making his latest film Mirattal a decent hit at the box-office. Mirattal, directed by R. Madesh, had the ‘inevitale’ presence of comedian Santhanam who happens to jell well with all the young and old heroes of the present generation. The film’s success has given a new lease of life to Vinay who is now back in the reckoning in Tamil films.
Vinay debuted as hero with Unnalae Unnalae opposite the curvaceous Sadha. The film, directed by late Jeeva, did very well at the box-office. Vinay then starred in Jayamkondan by R. Kannan which also did reasonably well at the box-office. However, his Modhi Vilaiyadu bit the dust at the box-office despite that fact that it was directed by Saran who had given Ajith some amazing hits in his career.
Kajal Aggarwal was Vinay’s heroine in Modhi Vilaiyadu. At the time of the film’s release, Kajal was a largely unknown entity in Tamil films. After a long break, Vinay has now made a comeback of sorts with Mirattal. He now plays the second hero in an upcoming titled Endrendrum Punnagai (EP) which has Jiiva and Trisha playing the lead roles for the first time on screen.
EP is produced jointly by Dr. V. Ramadoss and G.K.M. Tamil Kumaran. During the shoot of EP in Chennai yesterday (20th September), Vinay celebrated his birthday alogn with the rest of the cast and crew of the film. Ahmed, who made the disastrous Tamizhan many years back which had Vijay and Priyanka Chopra in the lead, is directing the film hoping for a successful comeback in Kollywood.
A huge cake was ordered which Vinay cut and distributed to all the crew and technicians. He was wished a happy birthday by Jiiva, Trisha and others.
