Sarathkumar at Global Walk for Indias Missing Girls Stills

It all started with a message on the ‘Global Walk for India’s Missing Girls’ on a social networking website, inviting participants to the walk in Puducherry. Finding that no one had come forward to organise the event in Chennai, a bunch of school students decided to take the initiative.

Soon, a few class XI students from different city schools were on the job. They got together, planned the event meticulously, met people, got sponsors, publicity and several more students like them interested in the walk according to coordinator of the initiative M. Lakshmi, a class XI student of Sindhi Model School.

The walk took place on the Marina on Sunday(March 6, 2011), at 7 a.m. Actor Sarath Kumar who took keen interest in the initiative also participated in the walk.

Actors Vijayakumar, Dhansika and Fathima Babu also participated at the event.
