Director A L Vijay has denied reports that he would be turning a producer soon and his maiden venture would be directed by assistant director Ponnusamy, who fought a legal battle with him over the story rights for Thaandavam.
Few days back it was reported in media, that director Bharathiraja held a meeting with the members of the council and also with Vijay and Ponnusamy. And Bharathiraja had proposed a truce and a possible solution as Vijay could produce Ponnusamy’s maiden directorial venture.
However Vijay denied that reports are false. During a recent press meet, he said, ‘we fought the battle in court and won it. The only similarity between the two stories was that the hero was visuallly-challenged. It’s not true that I would be producing a film under Ponnusamy’s direction’
‘Ponnusamy is a talented script-writer and I a confident that he would leave his mark in the industry,’added Vijay.
On Thaandavam, Vijay said, ‘I am happy with the way people received the movie. It has managed a huge collection and the credit should go to my team and UTV Films’
‘Vikram is one of the rare actors who gives his best in any role. For Thaandavam, he worked hard and it was visible on screen. I share a good rapport with him and our chemistry worked well,’ Vijay said.
On his upcoming projects, he says, ‘I will be starting my next with Vijay sir soon. Pre-production works have begun. It would be a commercial entertainer and film-buffs would love it’.
