MDMK general secretary Vaiko has said that he won’t be responding to Tamil Nadu BJP president Tamilisai Soundarajan’s statement on electoral alliance for next year’s Assembly polls.
Speaking to newsmen recently, Tamilisai said that Vaiko appeared to be keen on keeping Tamil Nadu on a ‘boiling point’. She predicted that the five-party alliance formed by Vaimo and Thirumavalavan won’t have any noticeable impact in Assembly elections. She had also added that there was ‘confusion’ within the alliance as to who would lead it and this would take a toll on its (alliance’s) performance.
Vaiko, who returned to Chennai from Madurai yesterday, was surrounded by newsmen at Chennai Airport. Speaking to them, he said he would be happy if unemployed youth get job opportunities from industries to be launched thanks to the Global Investors’ Meet which concluded yesterday in Chennai. On another note, he lamented that irrespective of the party in power in Lanka, the Lankan Tamils continued to face hardships.
When asked to respond to Tamilisai’s remarks, Vaiko refused to be drawn into an argument and said that he didn’t want to waste his time by replying to Tamilisai.
