Deepa, niece of former Tamil Nadu chief-minister J. Jayalalithaa, has shocked the people of the State by openly stating that she had ‘sold proof’ to show that her aunt, who was the undisputed ‘Queen’ of the State during her times, was murdered by a conspiracy and added that her demise wasn’t a natural one.
Speaking to a regional private television news channel, Deepa said that she had proof to back up her statement and that she would reveal it at the ‘right time’. “I had resided at my Aunit’s Poes Garden in the past and as such, I don’t want her residence to be turned into a memorial. I won’t permit it; the place where my Aunt once lived ought to be treated in a sacred manner like a temple.
“When I went to Poes Garden a few days back at the invitation of my brother Deepak, I was threatened with many things: they even said they would get me booked under the narcotics Act. I was deeply affected by what happened there and would be briefing the Prime Minister about this when I get an appointment to meet him; I shall also tell him about the threat to my life posed by the internal bickering within the AIADMK factions.
“The Edapadi Palaniswami-led regime has no right to last in power,” she said. On another note, she admitted that it was a fact that her aunt Jayalalithaa’s death wasn’t a natural one and that she was murdered by conspiracy. “Deepak and others have done it jointly with huge help from Sasikala and her family members; when the right time comes, I would provide evidences to prove this,” Deepa concluded.
