Sandeep Saxena, the Chief Electoral Officer of Tamil Nadu, has said that he didn’t know anything about DMK treasurer Stalin’s complaints of deletion of DMK cadres’ names from electoral rolls.
Accompanied by his family members, Saxena was in the holy town of Rameswaram on a personal visit. Newsmen, however, intercepted him when he emerged from the temple and asked him when the Assembly elections in the State would be held. Saxena replied that the Election Commission of India would have to finalize dates for holding elections.
Scribes then sought his reaction to DMK treasurer Stalin’s remarks that thousands of names of DMK cadres, who are still alive, have been purposely deleted from the electoral rolls by the State Election Commission. Saxena simply said that he didn’t know what Stalin said in this regard; he stayed away from confirming nothing of that sort happened.
