Prabhudeva adamant in not converting to Christianity

Some time back, we had reported that Prabhudeva was under pressure from fiancé and actress Nayanthara and her parents to convert to Christianity so that his marriage to the actress could be held peacefully. As readers are aware, Nayantara’s actual name is Diana Mariam Kurien and she hails from a devout and orthodox Christian family which belongs to the Roman Catholic sect.

Just when Prabhudeva thought all the stumbling blocks in the path of his marriage with Nayantara have been cleared by finally getting the ‘acceptance’ for divorce from first wife Ramlat (in exchange of huge ‘cash’ and other valuables, though), he now faces trouble from unexpected quarters: from Nayan’s parents.

Ramalat was a Muslim when Prabhudeva fell in love with her in the early nineties. Prabhudeva got her converted to Hinduism and changed her name to ‘Latha’ before marrying her. Sources close to Prabhudeva say that the bearded director has been ‘stumped’ by the condition of Nayan’s parents that he should convert into a ‘Christian’ so as to marry Nayantara.

Prabhueva, whose latest directorial venture ‘Engeyum Kaadhal’ has been doing average business at the box-office, is reported to have told Nayantara in plain terms that his conversion to Christianity is almost ‘ruled out’. As such, Nayan has been taking up the matter with her parents not to demand that Prabhu should get converted prior to their marriage.
