I will be different from Nayan and Asin: Trisha

Actress Trisha is presently starring in the Telugu film ‘Bodyguard’ opposite Venkatesh. After making an unsuccessful bid to enter Bollywood last year with the dud ‘Khatta Meetha’, Trisha is now more focused and is determined to keep intact her Tamil and Telugu market rather than trying her luck with Hindi movies.

‘Bodyguard’ is the Telugu version of the Tamil film ‘Kaavalan’ starring Vijay and Asin in the lead; incidentally, ‘Kaavalan’ itself was the remake of the Malayalam original ‘Bodyguard’ starring Dileep and Nayantara. Popular Mollywood director Siddique had directed both the Tamil and Malayalam versions which turned out to be highly successful at the box-office.

Trisha, who plays the role essayed by Nayantara and Asin in the Malayalam and Tamil versions respectively, assures that she would adapt her own ‘style’ and won’t be taking a leaf out of their performances. “Both Nayan and Asin had put in good enough performances but I would like to stick to my own style while playing the role,” said Trisha.

“The script is fantastic and involves an emotional love affair. In particular, I love my character in the film and am fully committed to giving it my best shot. I don’t want to compare Nayan and Asin’s work as both of them are good actresses. I would be playing the role my own way instead of copying either of them.

“As far as possible, I would try to ensure that my individuality isn’t lost while playing the role. Prakashraj plays my father in the film,” concludes Trisha and adds that she hasn’t committed herself to any other Tamil film now that the shooting of her film ‘Mankatha’ opposite Ajith is over.
