Nandita on her upcoming projects – Interview

Nandita got her share of fame with her latest release Attakathi where she played the role of a timid girl Poornima. The movie has been the talk of the town for its refreshing screenplay about a middle-class youngster from suburban Chennai. Let us look at how it has affected the actress who is on cloud nine post favorable comments by Director Vetrimaaran and Venkat Prabhu .We caught up with her for an interview; here is an excerpt from the same.

Nandita you started off with a Telugu movie and now your Kollywood movie has done pretty well at the theatres, how does it feel to be part of both worlds?

First of all I would like to thank the people here who have been so nice to me. I think I am blessed to enter Tamil movies with a great team by my side. They have put in a great effort and the technical duties have been dealt with so much ease. It is only because they made the whole process so smooth that many people know me as Poornima now.

Poornima your character was a hit as you mentioned, you entered movies just immediately after school, do you ever regret that?

No, I don’t regret it; I think with a song like Aasai Oru Panithuli I got a doze of college life and just enjoyed it. Haha.

Haha, good, we wanted to know a bit more about this other song Aadi Pona Aavani. Apparently it is your caller tune too, you like that song?

Oh yes it is a great tune to hum along, I keep singing that everyday.

Now that we know about you favourite song, tell us about the kind of roles you would die for?

I want to do more performance based roles. I just want do characters that people can associate with for a long time and stay away from the masala roles.

Promising, so now what is next?

I have Nalanum Nandhiniyum coming up it is written and directed by Venkatesan R, I play Nandhini, a responsible character. Then there is Ethir Neechal directed by Senthil. It is produced by Dhanush sir.

Wow, so you have some really great offers lined up already, fabulous.

All this would not have been possible without Vetrimaaran Sir and Venkat Prabhu Sir. I have put in my best effort and they have been kind enough to encourage me and praise me.

We are certain your best efforts will continue to gain the attention of many more directors. Our best wishes for your upcoming releases. Thank you for taking out the time.
