After bringing Deadpool to life in his landmark 2016 film, actor Ryan Reynolds can now say he’s also written for the character thanks to a newly minted writing credit on the sequel.
Reynolds is officially getting a writing credit for Deadpool 2, the sequel to the wildly successful, R-rated Marvel Comics-based film. The original was a huge success, breaking box office records and delighting fans of the comics. It was written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. And now, the sequel adds Reynolds to that roster of talent.
This is a big step for Reynolds, who has been very vocal about Deadpool.
Deadpool 2 is directed by David Leitch. It hits theaters on May 18.
