Benedict Cumberbatch says no plans in place for a Doctor Strange sequel

Benedict Cumberbatch is set to reprise his role as Doctor Strange in Avengers: Infinity War, but he’s not sure when, or if, he’ll have his own solo outing again.

During a recent interview regarding the Avengers: Infinity War film, he was quizzed if he knew as to when he’d be shooting a Doctor Strange sequel. He said: “Not at the moment, no. The masterplan is continually in flux, so it would be out of order for me to speculate.

Marvel Studios has purposefully kept its slate beyond Avengers 4 very secret, as it may just reveal some of the results of the upcoming ensemble piece. This, in theory, is why a Doctor Strange sequel has never outwardly been confirmed. However, it’d be hard for the studio to pass the opportunity to bring Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, and Rachel McAdams back though, with the first movie making $677 million in the worldwide box office.
