AMC is working on bringing another comic book adaptation to the small screen. The cable TV network has just ordered an adaptation of the controversial comic book – Preacher. The news was first brought to light by Executive Producer Seth Rogen.

The series will be out some time in mid-2016 and will have 10 episodes.

As has been mentioned, Preacher would be based on Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s 1990’s DC comic series revolving around Rev. Jesse Custer, a role that be played by Dominic Cooper. It is about a badass Texas preacher who after losing his faith, learns that God has left heaven and forsaken his duties. Hence, he and his vampire ex-girlfriend track down God and hold him responsible for his abdication.

According to the reports, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Sam Catlin are adapting the comic for AMC via Sony Pictures Television. Rogen and Goldberg, both of whom are big fans of the comic, will direct the project.

That being said, the duo will also serve as the Executive Producers in FX’s animated comedy pilot Bigfoot, based on the books by Graham Roumieu.
