Producer Shoojit Sircar is a happy man these days, what his long in the making project ‘Runningshaadi’ finally hitting the screens on 17th February. On being questioned about the movie having lost its charm and relevancy of the plot due to the long delay, Shoojit clarifies that, the same will no way affect the movie’s performance at the box-office as, the plot and story of ‘Runningshaadi’ has a long shelf life and is relevant even today.
The movie is being helmed by debutante director Amit Roy, who happens to be the son of Shoojit’s mentor-cum-Godfather Deepak Roy. The ‘Piku’ director is happy to have launched Amit’s Bollywood career, which he terms as a ‘guru dakshina’ to Deepak Roy.
The plot of ‘Runnungshaadi’ revolves around two friends (Amit Sadh and Arsh Bajwa) who help the much in love couples, who face family opposition, elope and get married. Actress Taapsee Pannu, who essays the female lead and love interest of Amit Sadh, is collaborating with Shoojit Sircar for the second time, having last featured in his home production ‘Pink’.
