Amala Paul has a huge problem to contend with. The actress, who has started going places in Kollywood, is said to prefer modern dresses a lot. She is often spotted at filmy functions dressed in captivating midis or frocks or some other dress which is to her liking. Yet, there is one dress that she isn’t particularly fond of: it’s the saree.
Sources close to the actress say that she is yet to master the ‘technical nuances’ that go into donning Indian women’s typical costume of saree. Incidentally, she was spotted mostly in spotless and attractive sarees in her latest film Deiva Thirumagal. Obviously, the role she played in the film, which was that of the correspondent of a school, required her to be clad in sarees.
The actress, whose claim to fame was last year’s Mynaa, prefers modern dresses a lot as she finds it quite easy to slip into and out of them instead of going for a saree as it takes her ages to don it. For her on-screen roles, though, she takes the help of her costume designer and assistant to don the saree. She openly admits that as it takes too much of her time, she avoids putting on sarees to functions.
Even if organizers of a particular function ask her to come draped in a saree, she simply refuses and says that she may not be able to do that. Even her fans wish her to be seen in sarees most of the time; it’s high time Amala took some serious training in the art of donning a saree!
