Just 3 days back, Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s father and director S A Chandrashekar announced that Vijay Makkal Iyakkam would campaign for AIADMK-led alliance in the upcoming election.(Read More)
However it seems like the decision taken by Chandrashekar to support AIADMK didn’t go well with a section of Vijay fans and has been causing rift among the fan clubs.
According to a press release, a group of Vijay fans from Krishnagiri have joined the ruling party DMK on Tuesday (March 29, 2011). They have also offered their unconditional support to candidates of the DMK-led front.
When enquired this information with SA Chandrashekar, he said that though most of Vijay fans favoured DMK for many years like him, all had turned away their face from the DMK as per their ‘Thalaivar’s’ wish and intensified their work in favour of the AIADMK.
“I took the decision only after consulting the office bearers of Vijay Makkal Iyakkam from districts all over Tamil Nadu. There is no rift in the organisation. Those who have joined DMK were sacked from the Iyakkam due to illegal activities. All Vijay fans will dedicatedly work for the winning of AIADMK led front in the elections “, he said.
It may be worth mentioning here that Vijay neither Vijay met the AIADMK supremo Jayalalitha nor made any statement to support ADMK.
