Something that has been discussed in hushed tones in Kollywood is the likelihood of comedian Vadivelu campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections scheduled to be held across the country early next year.
It is said that Vadivelu had a ‘secret meeting’ with Narendra Modi, the Gujarat chief minister and BJP’s prime-ministerial candidate, at an undisclosed location some time in the past during when the comedian reportedly agreed to campaign for the party in the general elections.
Vadivelu is still smarting under the ‘bad-effects’ of his campaigning for the erstwhile ruling party (DMK) which resulted in him getting boycotted by the Kollywood fraternity for more than two years. Vadivelu is now on the comeback trail and is playing the hero in a full-length comedy film and is on talks to star in another big film too.
It remains uncertain whether Vadivelu would love to show himself as the supported of the Saffron party which is looking for some fillip to its election campaign in the State. It is said that the State BJP functionaries arranged for Vadivelu’s meeting with Modi on the sidelines of Modi’s recent public meeting in Bangalore.
Vadivelu is said to have received huge encouragement as the party’s top leader, who is viewed by many as the future prime minister, has assured him of a ‘pleasurable experience’ during and after the election campaign.
