Trisha denies donning bikini for Kaavalan Remake

Actress Trisha is peeved at the reports which appeared in some sections of the press claiming that she has demanded (and was paid) Rs.25 lakhs in excess of her fee for appearing in a bikini for a sequence in her upcoming Telugu film ‘Bodyguard’. The film, which is the remake of the Tamil super-hit film ‘Kaavalan’, has Venkatesh as the male lead opposite Trisha.

“When the script demands no such sequences, how can such a scene be ‘introduced’ just for the thrill of it? Actually, I couldn’t stop my laughter when I read the news item,” says Trisha. The Vijay-Asin starrer ‘Kaavalan’ is actually the remake of the Malayalam original ‘Bodyguard’ which had Nayantara and Dileep in the lead.

Some press reports claimed a couple of days ago that Trisha had agreed to appear in swim-wear for ‘Bodyguard’ and that she has been assured of an extra-payment of Rs.25 lakhs for this particular sequence, which featured neither in the Malayalam version nor in the Tamil version. It was also said that Trisha’s decision to go ultra-glamourous was to stave off stiff competition from the younger brigade of ‘bold and beautiful’ actresses in Tollywood.

“The Telugu version is a frame-by-frame remake of the Tamil version and as such, those who have seen the Tamil film must be aware that the film had no embarrassing sequence. I can assure my fans and others that the Telugu version would also be an entertaining and likeable one,” concludes Trisha.
