Reports say that the much-anticipated combination of director Selvaraghavan with Kamal Haasan is not happening in the near future. Selvaraghavan, who is presently making ‘Irandaam Ulagam‘ starring his younger brother and actor Dhanush and Richa in the lead roles, announced some time back that he would be directing ‘Ulaganayakan’ Kamal Haasan in his upcoming film titled ‘Viswaroopam’.
It is said that Selvaraghavan has chosen to walk out of the project and that Kamal Haasan himself will be directing the film, which would have Bollywood’s Sonakshi Sinha debuting as heroine in Tamil opposite him. Kamal will also be penning the script, screenplay and lyrics of the film, it is further revealed.
Shooting would be completed in three scheduled as the producer is aiming for a year-end theatrical release of the film. Since it may take some months for Selvaa to complete his current film ‘Irandam Ulagam’, he has opted out of the project in an amicable way and Kamal has replaced him, it is said. Selvaa was to leave for London in a short while with Kamal and the rest of the crew for the shooting schedule.
The month-long shooting schedule would now go ahead as planned in London where important sequences on Kamal and Sonakshi will be shot sans the presence of Selvaa. This would be Kamal Haasan’s next directorial venture after his ‘Virumaandi’ a few years ago, which introduced Pasupathy to Kollywood.
