Rana Daggupati out of Vada Chennai

After directing Dhanush in back-to-back films in Polladhavan and Aadukalam, director Vetrimaran is finally moving away from the tag of ‘Dhanush’s director’ and would soon be directing Simbu in his upcoming film titled Vada Chennai(North Chennai).

Billed as an action film on the lines of Polladhavan, Vada Chennai would soon be launched; it is informed by sources close to the director. It is said that Amala Paul has been roped in to play Simbu’s romantic lead in the film. On his part, Simbu had already expressed his readiness to start the shooting schedule of Vada Chennai.

Rana Daggubati, one of the leading Tollywood heroes, was reportedly approached by Vetrimaran to play a significant cameo in Vada Chennai. Some time back, Vetrimaran reportedly called Rana over to his place and narrated to him the entire story. Rana was obviously excited to be part of the script and assured Vetrimaran that he would ‘adjust’ his call-sheet dates to star in the film.

Now the buzz is that Rana walked out of the film. Rumour mills have it that, when Rana came to know that Simbu would be playing the lead role, he became non-committal about starring in the film. Reports also say that he has formally communicated to Vetrimaran his ‘inability’ to make himself available to be part of the film.

What’s brewing?
