She impressed many with her simple, homely (albeit sexy) look in the hit film ‘Kulla Narikoottam’. Yes, we are talking about Ramya Nambeesan, who debuted as one of director-actor Cheran’s heroines in the dud ‘Raman Thediya Seethai’ almost three years back. Her comeback in ‘Kulla Narikoottam’ in a typical girl-next-door character must have caught the imagination of many directors and heroes, it is believed.
Ramya, who speaks very fluently in Tamil, surprised many by not dubbing in her own voice for her role in ‘Kullanarikoottam’. In fact, the impact of her character would have been better had she dubbed in her own voice, trade circles point out. Though hailing from Kerala, Ramya had made her intention of making a name for herself in Tamil films loud and clear to all.
Despite the success of ‘Kullanarikoottam’, Ramya hasn’t been flooded with offers. This has made the slim-built Ramya to seek greener pastures in Sandalwood, the world Kannada films. Reports say that she is all set to debut as heroine in Kannada films with an untitled film opposite young gun Ajay Rao.
Ramya is said to have confided to her close friends that though she would be busy with her Kannada film, as and when she gets plum offers in Telugu and Tamil films, she would surely be lapping them up with glee!
