Speculations as to what could be superstar Rajinikanth’s next film after the upcoming Kochadaiyan have been floating thick and fast in Kollywood. Some reports say that Rajini’s next film would be for director K.S. Ravikumar or for K.V. Anand while it is also mentioned that Rajini might star in Hansraj Saxena’s maiden production venture under his new production house.
Reports trickling in from Tollywood say that Rajini might ultimately decide to star in film-maker S.S. Rajamouli’s upcoming film. Rajamoul’s success rate as a film-maker has been nothing short of amazing. It is said that SSR has completed penning the script which also has Rajinis consent.
Rajini plays dual role in the 3-D animation film Kochadaiyan which releases on 12-12-12. And the fans are restless to know as to who would be the director of their Thalaivar’s next film. Among Ravikumar, Anand and SSR, the Naan Ee director appears to have a clear edge over others as Rajini himself had lauded SSR’s work in Naan Eee and had termed it as ‘one of the most important films made in the history of Indian cinema’. The film, released in Telugu as Eegaa, proved to be a colossal hit in both languages.
A self-proclaimed fan of Rajini, SSR had said that getting accolades from a stat such as Rajini meant a lot to him. He had added that he was ready to direct Rajini at any time of his career and didn’t even needed to be told in advance. It is said that Rajini liked the script narrated to him by SSR and had given his ‘nod’ to star in the film.
The proposed film, to be made simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu, might also be dubbed in Hindi, the sources say.
