Superstar Rajinikanth never fails to make news. The ‘man of the masses’ is presently in London in the midst of the first schedule of shooting of his upcoming film Kochadaiyaan which is said to be the first-ever Indian film to be made using the ‘motion capture’ technology and in 3-dimensional mode. The film has Bollywood’s Deepika Padukone as Rajini’s heroine. Shobana (of Thalapathy fame) is Rajini’s second heroine in the film.
Bollywood’s Jackie Shroff, Kollywood’s Sarath Kumar, Aadhi and many other stars are part of this prestigious project which also happens to the debutant directorial venture of Soundarya Ashwin, Rajini’s second and youngest daughter. Director K.S. Ravikumar would be penning the story, screenplay and dialogues besides assisting Soudarya in her direction assignment.
The shoot is presently at the Finewood Studios, where many Bond films have been filmed so far. Some sequences are also being shot in the backdrop of huge and specially erected sets as the film is set against a historic backdrop. Rajini looked as youthful as ever clad in a pair of blue jeans and a shirt and posed happily for photographs with Sarath Kumar and his wife and actress Radhika.
Deepika is expected to reach London on 2nd April to take part in the shooting schedule. She was earlier cast in Rajini’s Rana as heroine and felt heart-broken when the project was abandoned. Deepika is determined to make it count this time. Meanwhile, reports say that the Telugu dubbing rights of Kochadaiyaan have been sold for a record price of Rs.25 crores to Lakshmi Ganapathy Films, a leader in the business!
