Has Anushka crossed the Re.1 crore mark?

From time to time, the fee charged by actors and actresses for their films is leaked to the press, albeit without the full consent of the artistes concerned.  These reports generally don’t quote any ‘origin’ and as such, should neither be disputed nor be taken in its entirety.

The leggy lass Anushka, the flavour of Kollywood and Tollywood, has gone past the coveted Re.1 crore mark as her per film.  She is said to be demanding and getting from her producers nothing less than Rs.1.5 crore per film in both these languages.  Many expensive gifts and ‘presents’ also accompany the payment as referred to above; but, these are hardly taken into account!

Ileana D’Cruz, the slim-and-svelte actress whose waist is almost invisible, is the other actress who matches Anushka when it comes to getting payments.  She reportedly demanded Rs.1.75 crore to pair up opposite Vijay for Shankar’s ‘Nanban’ and it required all of Shankar’s persuasion skills to convince her to reduce her fee by Rs.25 lakhs.

Trisha, the other leading lady in both Tamil and Telugu, was getting Rs.1.50 crores till a few months back.  As her market as taken a beating recently, she has come down a bit and gleefully accepts Rs.1.40 crores per film.  The fee details are discussed threadbare by her mother Uma Krishnan, who tends to be very strict when it comes to fixing and receiving payments on Trisha’s behalf.

Genelia, Tamannaah and Asin form the ‘second rung’ of heroines who get paid not less than Re.1 crore per film.  Tamannaah, who was the busiest actress in Tamil till her super-hit film ‘Siruthai’ opposite Karthi early this year, has fallen out of favor with Tamil film-makers for some strange reasons and has no Tamil film to her credit except for Hari’s ‘Venghai’ opposite Dhanush. She has been paid Re.1 crore to star opposite Dhanush in ‘Venghai’, it is said.

Next comes the likes of Amala Paul, Oviya, Tapasee and Hansika who get paid somewhere in between Rs.20-30 lakhs per film!
