Actress Haripriya has made it absolutely clear she had nothing to do with Vijayendra, son of former Karnataka chief minister Yeddyurappa of BJP. Haripriya’s denial was necessitated after some sections of the regional press carried news items claiming that Haripriya was ‘close’ to Vijayendra, whose house and properties have been deeply searched by the CBI in recent days.
Popular in Kollywood and Sandalwood, Haripriya debuted in Tamil films opposite Karan in the dud Kanagavel Kakka and starred in films such as Muran and Vallakkottai opposite Cheran and Arjun respectively that order. She has also starred in a few Telugu and Malayalam films and is a permanent resident of Bangalore.
Reports emanating from Karnataka said that in a swift turn of events, Haripriya’s Bangalore residence was raided by a team of CBI officials. It was also informed that the raid at Haripriya’s residence was part of an elaborate search operations launched by the country’s premier investigating agency. Vijayendra’s name got dragged in the mines scandal which has been rewriting the political scenario in the State.
As Haripriya was reportedly ‘close’ to Vijayendra, a search team was dispatched to conduct raids at her house, the reports said. However, Haripriya has categorically denied that there was no raid conducted at her residence in Bangalore. “I was shocked to read in the papers about the ‘raid’ while nothing of that sort took place actually.
“I’m not having anything to do with Vijayendra; in fact, I have neither heard about him in the past nor met him even once as on date,” concludes Haripriya.
