Goan girl Genelia D’Souza has a major release on Deepavali as her film Velayudham opposite Vijay is all set for a grand release on that day. Despite her talents, Genelia hasn’t been seen much in Tamil films and has only done a handful of films in Tamil in the past few years. Her role as an innocent teenager opposite ‘Jayam’ Ravi in Santosh Subramaniam won her many fans.
Velayudham is widely believed as Genalia’s ‘last film’ in Tamil as the actress is all set to enter matrimonial bliss with Ritesh Deshmukh, popular Bollywood star, in the early part of the ensuing year. In a recent interview, she has opened up on many mattes close to her heart.
“Velayudham is probably my only (and last) mass-entertainer opposite Vijay and I’m proud to be part of this big-budget project. It’s my second film with Vijay after Sachin which released a few years back. I’m sure Velayudham would be liked by the movie-goers and Vijay’s fans and would do well at the box-office.
“No doubt, I like to party hard. Yet, I’m a simple girl at hear. Though I attend many parties and visit pubs, I’m always careful not to breach the ‘border’. That’s’ the way I’ve been brought up by my parents. Nayantara is one of my closest friend and we share lot of personal matters about both of us. We talk a lot on phone about both filmy issues and non-filmy matters.
“I’m a devout Christian who never fails to go to the Church on Sunday mornings to offer prayers. I find peace at the Church. I’m a regular on Twitter and have as many as 2 lakh followers. For the time being, I won’t want to say anything about my marriage,” concludes Genelia.
