Producer-distributor Durai Dayanidhi, son of Azhagiri, Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers and grandson of Kalaignar, has reportedly shifted the office of his production house from Chennai to Madurai without making much ado about it. Dayanidhi floated his production house named Cloud Nine Movies and produced and distributed many films successfully during the eresthile rule of the DMK in the State.
It was Dayanidhi who produced Ajith’s successful Mankatha as well. In the chaned political scenario in the State in the aftermath of the landslide victory of the ruling AIADMK in last year’s Assembly elections and in the backdrop of the DMK getting decimated and routed, many party bigwigs are facing problems by finding their names appearing in various scams or scandals reportedly committed some time back.
Dayanidhi’s name is frequently mentioned by the press as one of the ‘beneficiaries’ of the huge granite scame which is worth crores of rupees. Efforts are on by the State police to arrest Dayanidhi in order to interrogate him to find out about his involvement in the case. A separate police team has also been formed towards this.
As the police are on the look-out for Dayanidhi at the office of Cloud Nine Movies in Chennai, it is said that Dayanidhi has ‘secretly’ made arrangements to shift his office from Chennai to Madurai. The office, which had been functioning from a house which earlier had veteran Bharathiraaja as its resident, has now been ‘shifted’ to an undisclosed location in Madurai.
