Post the debacle of his much-anticipated Billa-2, Ajith has been actively concentrating on his upcoming untitled film directed by Vishnuvardhan, who made Billa for the star in 2007. Vishnu was to direct the sequel Billa-2 but as he was busy with his Telugu commitments, Chakri Toleti stepped in and directed the sequel, whose story was a ‘new one’ though it didn’t excite the fans and the public.
Last year’s super-duper hit Mankatha was Ajith’s landmark 50th film. His untitled venture directed by Vishnu pairs him opposite the ‘comeback queen’ Nayanthara while Aarya and Tapasee Pannu being the other romantic pair in the film. For this film, Ajith has reportedly shed the flab and paunch that was visible in Billa-2 and has acquired a youthful look by shedding those extra kilos.
Ajith’s next venture would be directed by Siva, who gave Karthi undoubtedly the biggest hit of his career in last year’s Siruthai. Siva is mighty excited at getting the offer to direct ‘Thala’ which would be the latter’s 53rd film. To be produced by Vijaya Vahini Studios, the screenplay writing has almost reached the concluding stages. Siva is said to be thinking of roping in Anushka as the heroine.
For this film, which is likely to go to floors by December this year, efforts are on to get Ajith and Anushka together as on-screen pair. Feelers have been sent to Anushka who is said to be considering it. The untested combo of Anushka and Ajith has aready generated a huge amount of curiosity among Ajith’s fans. Keep watching this space to find out further developments.
Meanwhile, it is strongly rumoured that Ajith has almost ‘finalized’ plans of launching his own production house in Kollywood!
