Of late, the trend of remaking successful Tamil films in Hindi has taken an upward trend. And now reports emanating from sources close to Vishnuvardhan say that the director might soon be remaking his Deepavali hit film Arrambam in Hindi.
Starring Ajith, Nayanthara and Arya in lead roles, Arrambam has been declared a hit and had a great runsat all the centres where it was released. Ajith’s salt-and-pepper look, Vishnuvardhan’s sleek direction, Nayan’s glamourous looks and Yuvan’s background score are said to be the film’ USPs.
Now that Arrambam has started making waves at the box-office, leading Bollywood heroes appear to be evincing keen interest to bag the film’s Hindi remake rights. Akshay Kumar, who has starred in quite a few Hindi remakes of Tamil films, is among those who are in talks with Vishnu to acquire the Hindi remake rights.
Shah Rukh Khan, who recently watched Arrambam, appeared to be mighty pleased with the film. He called up Vishnu over phone and expressed his appreciation about the way the film has been made. Shah Rukh also offered a chance to Vishnu to make his directorial debut in Hindi when he asked him to direct the film in Hindi while he would double up as producer and hero.
Vishnu is said to be taking his time to decide on Shah Rukh’s proposal. If everything goes well, he might soon be foraying into Bollywood with Shah Rukh playing Ajith’s role in the Hindi version and Ajith reprising Rana Daggubati’s role. It may be recalled that Shah Rukh and Ajith had already worked together in the 2001 film Asoka.
