Actor Vishal has defended the title of his upcoming film Paayum Puli, whose title has been borrowed from a hit film which starrer superstar Rajinikanth in the lead and released more than 3 decades back in the early eighties. Vishal spoke elaborately at the single-track release of the film produced by S. Madhan of Vendhar Movies. Lingusamy released the track which was accepted by Pandiraj and Thiru. Suseenthiran has directed the film.
“The entire songs of the film would be released at the audio-launch slated for August 02 to be followed by the film’s release in theatres on 04th September. It’s a significant film in my career and is my 3rd film as a cop. I always want my films to do well for my sake and for the sake of the directors and the entire crew. In particular, I want the climax of my films to have a telling effect on the audiences.
“Suseenthiran’s Pandiya Naadu was a huge turning point in my career. Paayum Puli is no less significant. Producers like Madhan are wanted in plenty in Kollywood. Kajal Aggarwal and Soori have become very close to me during the shoot. I’m sure the film’s climax, set by ‘Anal’ Arasu, would be lauded by critics. I’m thankful to AVM for allowing us to use the title of Rajini-starrer Paayum Puli.
“Once the film releases, everyone will come to know what the Tiger (Puli) is aiming for. It’s an imaginative story and not based on any real life occurrence. Paayum Puli would be released simultaneously in Tamil and Telugu. We couldn’t shoot abroad as we had already over-shot our estimated budget,” concluded Vishal.
