Vimal’ Kalingathuparani Controversy

Vimal fresh out of two back to back hits, Pasanga and kalavani is stuck now with a controversy.As producer Shanmugavel has lodged a complaint against Vimal in the Producers Union and the FEFSI.

According to Shanmugavel, producer of the under production ‘Kalingathuparani’, the film went to floors in November last year after he roped in Vimal for the lead role for a salary of Rs six lakh.And Vimal also received an advance of Rs. 50,000.

“Vimal assured me that he would act in my film after completing ‘Kalavani’. However he is now demanding Rs 60 lakh as remuneration saying that ‘Kalavani’ had become a blockbuster and his reach is big now,” he said.

To this Complaint ,Vimal says “Never had I demanded Rs 60 lakh from Shanmugavel. The film was dropped due to a rift between the director Aindhu Kovilan and the producer. So I had given my dates to other projects. The producer now wants to revive the project, but I am unable to give call-sheet. I’m ready to give back the advance”
