Director Bharathiraja’s last directorial venture was thriller film ‘Bommalattam’ in 2008 that fared moderately at the box-office though the story line was fine and different. The ace director was also seen as a lead actor in ‘Rettaisuzhi’, the film which failed to create impression.
Now after two years, Iyakunar Imayam is back to action for directing a rural film which has been tentatively titled as ‘Appan Aatha’. It is a story of three brothers and a leading wise man. For the three brothers,Cheran, Ameer and Seeman have been roped already to perform rural avatars. For the fourth leading role, Bharathiraja has approached Chiyaan Vikram.
Vikram has not yet been accepted the offer, though Bharathiraja is hoping Vikram will do it. If the role is declined by Vikram, Bharathiraja will don the greasepaint himself for the lead role.
Award winner Harris Jayaraj will be scoring the music and for the first time in their careers, Harris Jeyaraj will work with Bharathiraja for this film.
