Vidhya Balan Digs out Silk Smithas Life Style

Vidya Balan, who has made it big in Bollywood is one of the most in demand current actress for controversial roles, no wonder after her superb performance as mother of 12 year old Amithab in ‘Paa’, she was choosen IIFA’s best actress for the year 2010. Vidya is now eagerly looking forward to the release of next Hindi film ‘No One Killed Jessica’(NOKJ), in which she plays a sister of the Victim, the script itself is based on the murder of a former Delhi based model Jesssicca Lal in 1999.

And its been a year since we had reported that the actress will kick start the schedule for her next film where she would play the role of the ultimate ‘item girl’ of Tamil cinema: ‘Silk’ Smitha. The film, which to be made in Tamil and Hindi simultaneously by Bollywood director Milan Luthria, has been titled ‘The Dirty Picture’ and would seek to untie the knots surrounding the events which apparenty culminated in the unexpected suicide/murder of Smitha in the late nineties. And Vidya has already done with her home work has collected details about the lifestyle of ‘Silk’ Smitha from the close circles of the late actress on the mannerisms and rumours that emerged around her, This would ease her work to portray the charater in much more realistic manner on- screen. Indeed many were surprised when Vidya was chose to play Silk Smitha, while she is never known for her glamourous roles, .

Vidya next groundwork is to visit Eluru in Andhra Pradesh next week , where the sexy siren studied and would also be meeting a few teachers who taught Smitha.

Indeed this would be Vidhya Balan’s first tamil flick if released , for the actress who was signed for Madhavans ‘Run’ and dropped off when director Lingusamy replaced her with Meera Jasmine after the first schedule of shoot.
