Debutant director Vijay Chander, who has made the much-delayed Vaalu with Simbu and Hansika in the lead, has said that the ‘on-screen chemistry’ between the lead pair would become one of the most spoken-about topics in Kollywood once the film hits the screens.
Chander reveals that the film’s backdrop has been set in Railway Quarters where the characters essayed by the lead pair are shown to be residing. “It would be a full-length comedy and viewers would get to watch Simbu in a never-before seen role. Simbu and Santhanam’s combination sequences and scenes where the duo interacts with Hansika have been shot in a rather enterprising manner.
“Adithya, a popular Sandalwood hero, has essayed a negative role willingly in Vaalu. He has all the makings of becoming another Prakash Raj. In fact, he can even become quite popular in Kollywood as a hero too. He is mightily talented,” says Chander. Asked how he managed to bring together Simbu and Hansika after their much-publicized split, Chander said that he didn’t think about their split at all.
“When we recently shot the last song Thaarumaaru from the film, neither Simbu nor Hansika displayed any signs of their ill-will or hatred for each other. In fact, both of them looked well at ease and cooperated very well to shoot the song. Their on-screen ‘chemistry’ is sizzling; though it might sound clichéd, I must add here that their romantic sequences would be the film’s main USP when the film releases,” concludes Chander.
The million dollar question now is: when will Vaalu release in theatres?
