Actor Narain had his ‘Thambikottai’ release recently. The film had a huge star cast including yesteryear’s lead pair of Prabhu and Meena and Poonam Bajwa, who was paired opposite Naren. The film, which had been in the making for quite some, didn’t fare as well as expected.
Narain, though, discounts it by saying that the film might not have performed ‘upto expectations’ in the ‘A’ centre which refers to the urban areas. “I have learnt from reliable sources that the film has actually been doing rather well in ‘B’ and ‘C’ centres and I think this could be due to the fact that the film’s script has been set in a rural backdrop,” Narain reasons it out.
The Kerala-born actor, who is quite adept with dance as well as action sequences, comes across as a person who speaks his mind out. “Though I have been doing Malayalam and Tamil films simultaneously, it’s Kollywood where my heart is. I know I’m rather popular in Tamil Nadu and thankfully, I’m getting lot of hero-centric roles and would love to cash in on that popularity.
“It need not necessarily mean that I’d go on a signing spree; I believe in doing one film at a time if the banner, director and the cast is big. However, I’m also ready to make adjustments and compromises if the role is tempting enough,” concludes Narain.
