Anuradha Ramanan Passes away

Anuradha Ramanan, one of the well known Tamil noted writers passed away on Sunday May 16, 2010 due to a cardiac arrest at the age of 62 years.Anuradha had been admitted to a private hospital in Adyar a week ago following heart problems

She has written more than 1300 novels and short stories in a career spanning over 30 years.

Some of her novels like Sirai, Koottu Puzhukkal, Malarin Payanam and Oru Veedu Iru Vaasal have been made into Telugu, Kannada and Tamil films.Anuradha’s famous novels “Archanai Pookkal” and “Kana Kandaen Thozhi” were made into TV serials.

Apart from contributing to the leading journals, Anuradha was also known for anti-divorce counselling.

She is survived by two daughters Sudha and Subha, they are well settled in united states.

The funeral of Anuradha Ramanan was held on Monday 17th May, 2010 at Besant Nagar Crematorium.
