Thamarai, who is the ‘official’ lyricist in all films made by Gautham Vasudev Menon, has had a successful association with the director and is widely believed by many in the industry to be the ‘brain’ behind the pure-Tamil titles of all of Menon’s films till date.
Thamarai was recently speaking about her experiences in penning the lyrics in the upcoming Suriya-starrer Maatraan which has him playing the roles of conjoined twins, and s hitting the screens all over the world this Friday (12th October).
Thamarai was visibly emotional at the mention of Suriya’s name. “For some reasons, I love it whenever I’m asked to write lyrics for Suriya. I used to think about the kind of expressions he’d wear on his face when he acts in the song and this thought would make matters easy for me. Suriya had done tremendous work while starring in the songs in films such as Kaakka Kaakka and Vaaranam Aayiram.”
“Even in Maatraan, I have written the ‘Yaro Yaro’ song imagining how Suriya would be emoting on screen for the song. He is an excellent actor, the final version of the song has come out very well,” concludes Thamarai.
Maatraan music has been composed by Harris Jayaraj and has been cinematographed by Soundarrajan.
