After starring in the multi-starrer Nanban along with Jiiva and Vijay early this year, actor Srikanth is back in action with his upcoming film Paagan which hits the screens tomorrow in Tamil Nadu and elsewhere. Directed by Mohammed Aslam, a former assistant director who had worked in many films with Cheran and Ameer, the film promises to be a fun-filled affair.
Produced by VP Productions and presented by Vendhar Movies, the film has Janani Iyer (of Avan Ivan fame) opposite Srikanth. Aslma gets talking on the eve of the film’s release: “The entire script of Paaganrevolves around Srikanth and his penchant for finding shortcuts to become rich and successful. Once he finds that none of the plans works out, he starts going after a rich girl (Janani).
“Impressing a rich girl is always difficult, as he finds out. Janani proves to be a tough nut to crack. The subsequent incidents have been narrated in an interesting manner,” concludes Aslam. James Vasanthan, who has the policy of scoring music only for ‘decent’ films, has sored the music of the fim which has A. Venkatesh and ‘Barota’ Suri essaying prominent roles.
Paagan is a significant film in Srikanth’s career as he badly needs a hit to sustain himself in the industry and the actor is very keen to do so. “I play a simple character and in order to prepare myself for the role, I pumpted it hard at the gym and reduced my weight by as many as 7 kgs before the shooting commenced. I’m sure my fans would love the film and make it a memorable one,” concludes Srikanth.
