It was earlier reported in these columns that Shruti Haasan has landed up a plum Hindi project in her kitty by bagging the heroine’s role in Prabhudeva’s next directorial film in Bollywood. The film is the Hindi remake of the Tamil super-duper hit film Unakkum Enakkum which had Trisha playing the lead role. Incidentally, it was Trisha who played the lead role in the Telugu version too.
Trisha was hoping that Prabhudeva might cast her in the Hindi version but Prabhudeva went ahead and has cast the stunning-looking Shruti Haasan in the lead role. It could be the fact that Trisha is on the threshold of thirties that might have worked against her. The talented Shruti, who composes music, sings songs and acts, is also a trained danseuse as well.
Shruti had a disastrous debut in Bollywood with Luck more than two years back. However, thanks to her Tamil and Telugu films hitting the bull’s eye at the box-office, she is back in the reckoning and has been getting good projects in all languages. Daughter of Kamal Haasan, Shruti also managers to maintain an hourglass figure, thans to her regular yoga routine.
Shruti reportedly wanted to learn the nuances of all sorts of dance forms and is said to be getting ‘great help’ from Prabhudeva in this regard. Bollywood’s Salman Khan plays the lead role opposite Shuti in the film. Though she’s a trained danseuse, Shruti didn’t mind getting liberal tips and training under Prabhudeva’s supervision. She has recorded in her Twitter page that learning dance from Prabhu was ‘refreshing’ to the heart.
