The dates of release of Ajith’s upcoming film ‘Mankatha’ and Vijay’s ‘Velayudham’ are yet to be announced formally, leading to confusion in the ranks of the fans of both the stars. Ajith’s film, which is his landmark 50th film, is expected with bated breath by his fans while Vijay’s fans hope that the star continues the good work he showed in ‘Kaavalan’ early this year in his ‘Velayudham’ as well.
Both the big-budget films were scheduled for release in August; yet, as stated earlier, the release dates have not been made clear. Ironically enough, the dates of release of these films in neighbouring Kerala have been finalized and announced.
Diva Films, which has taken up the release of Ajith’s ‘Mankatha’ in Kerala, has said that the film would hit as many as 100 screens in the State on 19th August. Not the one to lag behind, the distributor who has taken up the responsibility of releasing ‘Velayudham’ in Kerala has also reportedly hired more than100 cinema halls to release the Vijay-starrer on 31st August.
In Tamil Nadu, the dates of releasing the trailer and audio of ‘Mankatha’ have been fixed for 3rd and 10th August respectively. No announcement, though, has been made about the audio-launch and the theatrical release of ‘Velayudham’ which has left the theatre-owners in the State wondering as to when they (the dates) would be finalized.
