Superstar Rajinikanth’s movies are usually launched with much fanfare with the inevitable presence of a large number of newspersons. The expectation, hype and the excitement surrounding the launch and release of each of the films of the superstar have only been witnessing a steep increase over the years despite the fact the star is in his early sixties. Such is the man’s charisma and star-power!
However, the muhurat of Rajini’s upcoming film Kochadaiyaan was held as a ‘low-key’ affair last Saturday (28th January) and was attended only be a few crew members of the film. The film, as already reported, is being directed by Rajini’s younger daughter Soundarya under the supervision of K.S. Ravikumar who would also be writing the story, screenplay and dialogues of the film.
Latha, wife of the superstar, tweeted, ‘Great moment and day flowers aarti coconut breaking puja and my husband super star on make up chair cheers to kochadayaan thankyou god .’
Soundarya, who is directing the film tweeted, ‘Started work with Appa for Kochadaiyaan today 🙂 god is great!! Tweeps shoot not started yet! But work on full time 🙂 !!! God be with us!’
Billed as a 3-D animation film and a ‘first-of-its-kind’ in the country, the film would be shot using the ‘motion capture’ technology, the technique which Spielberg used while making his Hollywood flick Avatar. Along with Rajini, a huge star cast has been roped in for the film including Bollywood’s Katrina Kaif, our own Shobana, Sarath Kumar, Aadhi, Prithviraj, Nassar and Sneha.
Let’s wish Rajini and the rest of the crew good luck!
