Superstar Rajinikanth has wrapped up his portion of the shooting schedule of his upcoming film Kaala Karikaalan.
Directed by Pa. Ranjith, the film brings together Ranjith and Rajinikanth for the second time in successive years after the duo combined for the first time to make last year’s colossal hit film Kabali. Shoot of Kaala, based on the real life of an underworld don based in Mumbai, began in the Western Metropolis a few months back even as Rajini shot simultaneously for his Shankar-directed 2.0 as well.
Rajini shooting in Mumbai obviously got his fans excited as Rajini had last shot in Mumbai more than twenty years back for his eternal hit Baashha. Later, the film’s crew shot widely in Chennai’s EVP Park on the outskirts of the city by erecting a ‘Dharavi’ like backdrop. As already reported, Rajinikanth, Easwari Rao, Huma Quresh, Anjali Patil, Samuthirakani & Nana Patekar play prominent roles in the film.
After shooting sequences involving Rajini, Samuthirakani and Aruldoss and the two heroines, it was declared that sequences involving Rajini had been wrapped up. Rajini bid adieu to the film’s crew in a happy mood and returned home. The crew would, in the meanwhile, continue to shoot in EVP Park besides in Mumbai before wrapping up the shoot towards end-October.
