Superstar Rajinikanth is said to have told K.S. Ravikumar and producer of his upcoming film Kochadaiiyaan to look for an appropriate date on which his film can be released ‘solo’ and comfortably without hurting the box-office interests of films of other stars.
Rajini’s much-awaited Kochadaiiyaan, which was to hit the screens on 10th January a few days ahead of Pongal, may not be releasing on that day as Rajini doesn’t want Ajith’s Veeram and Vijay’s Jilla so suffer as theatre owners have been so magnanimous in allotting leading theatres and multiplex to Rajini’s Kochadaiiyaan. Despite the fact that distributors and theatre-owners have assured a minimum of 750 leading theatres, Rajini has made the decision to delay the release of Kochadaiiyaan.
Rajini’s humanitarian approach and his desire to ensure that other heroes’ films too should do well at the box-office ought to be appreciated by all, critics point out. Moreover, in case Kochadaiiyaan released along with Veeram and Jilla on the same day, it is obvious that Ajith and Vijay may not end up getting the best of theatres as when Rajini’s film is lined up for release, invariably, he gets all the good theatres.
After a plea by producer of Veeram to help in getting good theatres, Rajini discussed at his residence with K.S. Ravikumar, who has penned the story, screenplay and dialogues besides supervising debutant Soundarya’s direction of Kochadaiiyaan. At the end of the discussions, Rajini reportedly instructed the duo to look for a suitable ‘solo date’ on which Kochadaiiyaan might be released.
