Rahman to sing at the Oscars again

Indian composer A.R. Rahman, recently was in news for his acknowledgment for 2 nominations at the Oscars.

Namma Tamil cinema pride ARR will be blessing Hollywood’s A- list audience with a performance at the prestigious award ceremony in Los Angeles again during the Oscars we hear.

This is his second time where he has been nominated in 2  categories for original score and original song along with one of his favorite collaborators of the Slumdog Millionaire fame Danny Boyle’s in his latest offering ‘127 Hours’. ARR will be teaming up with British pop sensation Florence Welch to perform ‘If I Rise’ from the movie itself.

At the last Oscars that happened in 2009,  he left everyone spellbound with ‘Jai ho’, that was a hot sensation globally. Not forgetting to mention he took home two golden statuettes.

Other performers on the list include Mandy Moore who will be singing her ‘I See the Light’ from their animated film ‘Tangled’ and Gwyneth Paltrow who will croon Coming Home from ‘Country Strong’, and Randy Newman with his ‘Toy Story 3’ tune ‘We Belong Together’.

Hereby the countdown for Academy Awards 2011 have begun and there is we more for kollytalkers to look forward to .The event is scheduled for February 27.

At the moment AR Rahman was supposed to meet for an exclusive lunch with Bryan Adams who is in mood to kick start his India tour but it looks like Rahman will have to skip it as unfortunately he is flying out for some urgent assignments in Hollywood.

Rahman, has not totally opted out of the possibility of a collaboration with Bryan Adams .He is quite eager to meet Bryan Adams back in US, post his India tour.

ARR is surely a hot property in the west as he is for Kollywood.

Great going! We hope the Rahmaniacs are really pumped up and looking forward to a great day this February.Rahman we are with you as always.
