Actress Priyamani has demanded compensation from a Tollywood film-maker for depicting her to be a part of the upcoming film Angulika from which she reportedly opted out.
The actress, who won the national award for ‘best actress’ for her role as the heroine in director Ameer Sultan’s Paruthiveeran almost a decade back, has moved the Movie Artistes’ Association (MAA) in Hyderabad seeking compensation from the producer of the film Angulika whose teaser was released recently.
After marrying industrialist boyfriend Mustafa Raj a few years back, Priyamani has been keeping away from starring in films. It turns out that the 33-year old Tamil-speaking actress was approached to play the lead role in the film initially. For reasons which were personal in nature, Priyamani spurned the offer to be part of the film whose shoot commenced five years back.
Priyamani has demanded a huge compensation from the film-maker for using her pictures in an ‘unauthorized manner’ for publicizing the film. Priyamani’s complaint to MAA was handed over by her manager Hariharan.
