Superstar Rajinikanth has said that most people in the country have no hope on the rulers in States and at the Centre but survive pinning their hopes mostly on judiciary.
“Country’s progress would be hugely hampered if the judiciary becomes corrupt,” Rajini observed while taking part in Chennai in a function to mark the release of stamps in memory of Justice Kailasam by the Department of Posts.
Rajinikanth released the stamp which was accepted by Chief Justice of High Court of Madras S.K. Kaul. Speaking at the event, Rajini said “People have pinned their ardent hopes on the functioning of judiciary. Politicians may disappoint people but judiciary can’t afford to do so. If the judiciary becomes corrupt, it would ham per the overall progress of the country as people depend heavily on it,” Rajini said.
Besides Rajini, those who attended the stamp-release function included lyricist Vairamuthu and former Union Finance Minister P. Chidambaram.
