KS Ravikumar-Rajinikanth

There would be no change in the story of Superstar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film ‘Rana’, sources close to director K.S. Ravikumar point out. The shooting of the film, which was suspended on the very day it began on 29th April due to Rajini falling ill, is all set to commence on 3rd October in Chennai. The period-flick would have Bollywood’s Deepika Padukone pairing opposite Rajini as one of his three heroines.

Tollywood’s Ileana is said to be the other heroine in the film with one more heroine remains to be finalized. Tabu, who has starred in quite a few Tamil films, might be roped in as the third heroine, it is said.

Both Ileana and Deepika have been told to wrap up their pending projects to make them available for ‘Rana’ from October for a lengthy shoot. The October shooting schedule is expected to last up to 100 days. Costumes and locations are chosen in such a manner to suit the characters in the film, which is a period type film.

Sources said that Ravikumar’s side has refused rumours that the stunt sequences in the film have been ‘toned’ down in view of Rajini’s health. It is reported that Rajinikanth is very particular that there should be no change in the original script and that the stunt sequences are being planned to be shot using hi-tech cameras and state-of-the-art technology. Ravikumar has informed that the screenplay has been fine-tuned further on Rajini’s suggestion. Sources say that the screenplay is being spruced up further in order to make it more interesting.
