It is strongly spoken in hushed tones by the crew of actor Suriya’s upcoming Hari-directed Singam-2 that either Nayanthara or the curvaceous Shriya Saran might be roped into to star in an ‘item number’ in the film which gets off the blocks on the 26th of this month from the Port City of Tuticorin.
Readers might be award that Singam-2 is the sequel to the successful Singam made by the Hari-Suriya combo more than two years back. The original version starred Anushka opposite Suriya; incidentally, Anushka is playing Suriya’s lead again in the sequel too. Hansika becomes the additional heroine in the film and would be starring opposite Suriya for the first time in her career.
Hari is said to be considering casting either Nayanthara or Shriya Saran to star in an ‘item song’ in the film along with Suriya. Nayan is busy in Tamil films and is on a comeback mode while Shriya Saran doesn’t have a single Tamil film on hand and is counting on her upcoming Tamil-Kannada bilingual Chandra to resurrect her career and put her back in the reckoning.
Devi Sri Prasad, whose songs contributed in no small measure to the success of the original version, would again be scoring the music of Singam-2 as well. It is said that the responses from Nayanthara and Shriya are still awaited. It is also added that in case both Nayan and Shriya don’t agree to star in the ‘item number’, the chance would then be given to the sizzling Richa Gangopadhyay.
Hari has also intimated us that the names of quite a few number of Bollywood heroine is also under consideration to feature in this ‘item number’!
