The South Indian Cine Artistes’ Association (SICAA), otherwise known as Nadigar Sangam, has fixed 30th September as the last date by which all the newcomers (actresses and actors) should enroll themselves as members of the Sangam failing which they won’t be allowed to be signed up for new projects by the producers and directors.
The general council of the Sangam met under its president Sarath Kumar on Sunday (11th September). Many leading actors, including Radharavi, secretary of the Sangam, took part in the meeting where significant decisions were taken to chart out the future of action on many important and pending issues.
The meeting took up the issue of newcomers and others continuing to act in films without getting themselves enrolled as full-time members of the Sangam and gave them the deadline of 30th September to fall in line.
In case these stars don’t enroll themselves as members by the stipulated date, they won’t get any cooperation from the Sangam and that they won’t be booked any further in future projects. The meeting was held at the Kamaraj Auditorium as the Sangam’s building is being renovated.
The meeting, however, was not attended by the likes of superstar Rajinikanth, Kamalahaasan, Vijay, Ajith, Dhanush, Simbu and others.
